Press Release
In the first twelve months of operation of the MIC more than 6,500 people throughout Cyprus have received services and more than 250 people have been hosted in the temporary accommodation shelter. Within the framework of the operation of the Project, counseling and psychological support services are provided to adults and children, professional guidance, facilitation for completing applications, Greek and English courses and participation of the served population in social and recreational activities organized in the local Centers. In addition, memorandums of collaboration with other organizations, NGOs and the local authorities have been signed.
An innovative action that was also developed is the publication of an electronic magazine, which aims to give a voice to the served population of MIC with the local community thus facilitating intercultural communication and mutual acquaintance between peoples. The magazine includes articles by clients that describe their personal immigration biography and their experiences in Cypriot society. The second edition of MiHUB e-magazine is hosted on the project’s website and aspires to be a forum for exchange of views both for the project beneficiaries themselves and for the host society.
The MiHUB magazine can host articles and opinions from both students and academics of the University of Nicosia and CUT. For more information contact via email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
